The Baldwin Beacon Content & Editorial Policies

1. Purpose and Audience: The Beacon is a communication tool from the Baldwin City Municipal Government to help you stay in the loop on civic and community life. This publication is primarily for residents of Baldwin City, but may be a good resource for business owners, Baker students and parents, visitors, and others with local interests.

2. Content Focus: The Baldwin Beacon covers community events, local initiatives and programs, updates from City Council and City Leadership, and public services and resources.

As a newsletter focused on government information, we do not accept submissions from non-governmental entities. We do not accept advertising of any sort. We may highlight an event, business, or program that is relevant to local interests, depending on available space. Feel free to email us at lmeador@baldwincity.gov if you have something you think is relevant. Other options for local publication include the Baldwin City Community News, The Maple, the Baker Orange, and the Baldwin City Chamber of Commerce.

3. Editing Process: All content goes through the Communications Department, with final review by the City Administrator and/or City Clerk. It is published in digital format via email, website, or social media, and is included in February, April, June, August, October, and December utility bills. You can sign up for the email here.

4. Frequency and Deadlines: The Beacon is published every other month, six (6) times per year. If you are submitting content for review, please email it by:
