It’s not every day you turn 150(+1)! We’re celebrating the past, present, and future versions of Baldwin City in Sullivan Square THIS SATURDAY.
Free cupcakes for the first 250 attendees, fun for the kids, Baldwin City merchandise for sale by talented local vendors, and food and beverages for sale.
Food and beverage sales start at 6:00pm, with the Baldwin Golf Association selling adult beverages, Juan Some Grub food truck set up on High Street, and Baldwin High School baseball and softball teams selling hotdogs, hamburgers, and pulled pork nachos. Plus of course our regular Baldwin City restaurants will be open for a great dinner.
At 7pm, Tigirlily, a pair of sisters originally from North Dakota will take the stage.
Around 8:30pm, four prolific Nashville singer/songwriters with decades of experience with some of the biggest names in the industry will take the stage. Jimmy Nichols, Frank Meyers, David Malloy, and Danny Wells are bringing a wealth of Nashville talent to downtown Baldwin City.
Danny Wells (bio) wrote Check Yes or No (recorded by George Strait), These Days (Rascal Flatts), Couldn't Last a Moment (Collin Raye), among other well-known songs.
Jimmy Nichols (bio) has played and sang on over 40 top ten and number one hits, and has made recordings with artists as varied as Reba, Faith, Tim McGraw, Elton John, Keith Urban, and Carrie Underwood, just to name a few.
David Malloy (bio) produced and co-wrote huge hits for Eddie Rabbitt, and also had huge success with artists like Kenny Rogers, Tanya Tucker, and Rosanne Cash. His production of You & I with Eddie and Crystal Gayle not only became one of the biggest country hits of all time, but held the top position of BMI's most played singles of all time.
Frank J. Meyers (bio) was a guitarist with Eddy Raven for 9 years, and Marie Osmond for 4 years. He and Gary Baker co-wrote Once Upon a Lifetime, sung by Alabama, and I Swear, recorded by John Michael Montgomery. He also co-wrote I'm Already There (Lonestar), My Front Porch Looking In (Lonestar), and Tomorrow (Chris Young). He’s had 12 number ones and 20 top tens and is a 2021 Nashville Songwriter’s Hall Of Fame Nominee.
